Clark has a message for everyone out there surfing this heat wave: Just be cool.
And that’s why they call it… the doggie paddle. If you can’t don a sweet red life vest and swim around in the shallow end, here are a few more ideas for keeping cool:
- Hot weather exercise (Mayo Clinic)
- 5 unusual ways to stay cool (Mother Nature Network)
- Tips for preventing heat related illness (CDC)
- Keep your pet cool during the dog days of summer (MSN Today)
And a very important message from the Boston Public Heath Commission:
I figure it could always be worse. Like two summers ago, when it rained for 9,000 days straight. Or last summer, when our A/C went bust in the office, and the temperature indoors peaked at 101 degrees. Yep, it could always be worse.
Also On Tap for Today:
- Time to start a new book
- Snakes in a locker!
- Homeless man rescues fallen flag
How do you keep cool? What’s your favorite type of weather? Favorite weather person?

I love cool weather, 50 to 70. I’m off to our community pool to exercise this morning. It’s so refreshing.
I appreciate this post especially about the homeless. Many thanks.

I keep cool by cuddling with a frozen water bottle. Sexy, I know. I love snow, but I have no favorite weather person to tune into – alas, the weathermen in Germany are all kind of boring.
