2020 Cranberry Harvest | and a new fluffy friend
One of my favorite things about off season on the Cape is being able to watch the cranberry harvest just beyond our neighborhood. When we’re lucky and get the timing right, we’ve been able to join a crowd of onlookers, walking the paths along the flooded bog, watching the wet harvest take place.
This year, as we arrived masked and kept our distance, the harvest felt even more special. And not just because we had a new (very fluffy) family member in tow… (hallelujah, we’re a dog family again!).
When I’m not playing with our little Birdie boy (rare moments), I’ve been making use of the abundance of fresh, local cranberries. From baked goods to easy cranberry sauce to cranberry, thyme and sharp cheddar quesadillas — I’m making the most of cranberry season here in Massachusetts.
