leaf letters
I love cutting letters from old magazine tear-outs and what not (here’s a recent work)– it’s one of my favorite ways to fill a sketch book. I had my super sharp/super unsafe scissors out, along with a handful of leaves from a hike in the Blue Hills… and a strong desire to, you know, not fold laundry. Procrastination births most of my creativity. Here are some leaf letters.
Once I’d satisfied my craving for creative time, clean up was super easy (not always the case with paints + ink + matte medium)– I opened the back door and the wind did the rest.
Later in the day, Grace asked why there was an M and an N in the driveway, and started searching for some of “her words.” We really are surrounded by miracles (and witnessing her learning to read has been nothing short of magic). But it all takes patience + perseverance + courage, doesn’t it? Don’t quit just yet, my friends.
The laundry still isn’t done, by the way.
