Hood X Handlebar
This post is sponsored by Hood Cottage Cheese.
At the end of May, I was treated to an uplifting, challenging spin class at The Handle Bar and post-workout snacks from Hood Cottage Cheese as part of the brand’s influencer program. My friend Michelle joined me for the event, and we were greeted by a studio full of people wearing the… best… Hood X Handlebar tanks.
We quickly got changed into our own matching tanks and caught up with Tina and a few friends before making our way to our bikes. How adorable is the personalized towel? It’s currently draped over my basement spin bike at the Cape (in an effort to recreate the Hood X Handle Bar vibes… it’s um… a work in progress). Such a thoughtful touch from Hood!
Jenny Johnson, host of NESN’s Dining Playbook (the class will be featured in one of their Shape Up segments), warmly welcomed us and introduced our Handle Bar instructor, Candice Peak. Candice got right into it, and within minutes my heart was pounding alongside the hip hop and EDM, goofy grin on my face and all (spin is magic that way for me).
While we were enjoying the workout, the folks from Hood were setting up the cutest Cottage Cheese Bar, complete with savory, sweet and classic flavors plus plenty of toppings, for a post-spin protein fix. Hood’s single serve low-fat cottage cheese (with 18g of protein) and their low-fat cottage cheese with chives + toasted onion (with 13g of protein) are my standbys. I love these two varieties on their own, topped with fresh herbs, or as a dip for cucumbers and rice crackers. They make the perfect healthy snack and are a favorite of mine both for breakfast and after workouts.
I was excited to try some of Hood’s newer flavors, too– especially the cottage cheese with honey + pear (true life: I picked up a full container at the store the next day). I’m usually more of a savory than sweets kind of girl, but apparently I can be swayed.
Speaking of swaying, I’m about ready to get back on that bike and work up an appetite… Luckily, Hood’s ten amazing flavors are packed with protein and full of calcium, and available in dairy cases throughout New England.
