Today: Teach an old dog new tricks.

[tweetmeme source=”elizabethev” only_single=false]Who says you can’t teach an ol’ dog new tricks?  Just yesterday, Clark taught himself how to climb up on the window sill, where he tried his best to communicate with the Frenchie that moved in across the way.  She has yet to call back.

Inspired by Clark’s daring acrobatics, I attempted my first ever half-moon and crow, and whipped out one totally awesome wheel at yoga last night.  Though I’ve taken classes here and there (including one especially strange series with my mom, taught by a woman who was at least 500 years old), this is the first time I’ve practiced with enough regularity to actually, well… get better.  That’s one of the great things about trying something new.  Inevitably, you will improve.  I smiled the whole way through class.

Whether you’re almost three (like Clark), newly thirty (like me), or an ancient goddess (like that old yoga instructor)….  we’re never too old to start learning new tricks.

I really enjoy your posts, especially the ones with Clark! I love you take something so small and find a greater meaning in it. Have a great Monday.
