Today: Put me in, coach.
I’m ready to play. Today. Look at me, I can be… Wait, what? This isn’t the dodge ball team meeting? I like purple, though. So I’ll stick around.
It’s official, people (and the robots that leave spam in my comments section). I am running a marathon. On purpose. And for a purpose– raising critical funds for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Nick signed us up for an info session last night. I walked in a lazy bum, and left a marathoner-in-training. Sort of.
You come here for the laughs (at me), presumably, and not to be shook down for spare change. I fully respect that, and hope you won’t mind if I share my marathon training adventures (there’s sure to be a few misadventures, as well) and plug my fundraising efforts now and then.
Running a marathon has long been a dream of mine. Most days, I wake up from that dream and eat a cheese doodle instead. Today, however, is a different day. I am excited to take on this challenge and all that comes with it. I truly appreciate everyone who’s coming along for the ride. And that’s no joke.
Also On Tap for Today:
- Cleaning like mad (we have visitors coming this week)
- Potential for shark attacks and a very real SHAQ ATTACK!
- Putting a dent in my summer reading
What future challenge or goal are you most excited for?

Good luck! My husband ran the NYC marathon a few years ago, and, crazy man that he is, actually wants to run another one. I got my exercise taking the subway around the city to cheer him on at different points.
Future goal I’m excited for: I want to start selling some of my artwork online. I should probably give myself a deadline, or I’ll come up with excuses to delay forever…
