Today: Pack in some excitement!

Our moving plans are sort of in limbo, but I know it’ll get worked out eventually.  In the meantime, I will continue to waste away the hours by cutting beers out of paper and personifying them with word bubbles.  And then, I will pack up some of my worldly possession and give the rest away to my family… unless no one wants my stuff  for free, in which case I will try to sell the remaining treasures to unsuspecting non-relatives on Craigslist.

I have devised an amazing plan:  First, I will make a list of the items I am not keeping and include descriptive photographs and phrases.  Family members will have a set amount of time to call dibs and claim their free item(s).  Then,  before I need to vacate the premises, I will set up a game show atmosphere where family members, friends, and strangers alike (actually—no strangers) get entered into a lottery system.  Each participant’s name will be pulled from a hat to determine their order in the game.  I need a name for it.  I haven’t gotten that far yet.

So, following the predetermined order, people will enter my room alone, with the door closed behind them, and stay in there for sixty seconds (while Jock Jams plays loudly).  Anything people walk out with after those sixty seconds is theirs for the keeping.  It’s sort of like the cash machines they had at roller rinks, only less great.

OK.  I just thought of a name.  It’s going to be called Beat the Clock and Win this Crock! Now I just need to find a crock pot to give away and some willing contestants.

Do you want Season 3 of The Simple Life on DVD?  Too bad.  I’m keeping it.  If you were moving, what would you keep?  Any thoughts on how to creatively unload unwanted items (I have already made 53 trips to various donation boxes, but charitable ideas are most welcome)?
